These are just a few of the topics discussed in boating magazines. Which makes sense. We like to stay cool when the sun is hot, we like to eat nice food during our holidays and at the end of the day we all need to go to the toilet.

But I miss something. Where is the renewable energy? Is there no interest in renewable energy for boats? Is it too expensive to install renewable energy on board? Is it just overlooked?

There is some information for those who search for it. There are many electrical powered boats, for example in areas where they are not allowed to use petrol or diesel engines because of pollution or noise. But these are almost always powered by the grid.

Therefore, I am going to write about renewable energy on the water. How can it be done. What are the bottlenecks? Examples of projects that have worked so far. Wouldn't it be amazing if we can sail around in boats which are powered by the sun and the wind so we don't pollute the nature we are trying to enjoy with our boats?

I am very interested to hear your thoughts about this new idea!

Thanks again for reading my little articles!
I admit it. And I know my friends agree with this statement. So when someone asked if I wanted to try Google Plus, of course I said yes.

Already in the signup process they caught my attention. I have heard of people that want to be something else, or who choose to change. But in the end you are one or the other. Right?
Well, Google Plus seems confused.

Away. Not just away, not even that far away, just away. Without any contact with the world. That can be refreshing these days. Not watching your phone for the latest facebook update from your "friends", no useless email with the latest mail order brides nor a personal text message.

Actually it is pretty nice to be able to say: "sorry folks, I am unreachable for a couple days".

So what did we do? Hiking, walking to town to get a coffee, more hiking, cooking, eating and talking instead of watching tv. Yeah, it was pretty nice.

So when you are hiking to the top of one of the nearby mountains, a 10km return walk with some pretty steep climbs, it scares the shit out of you when your phone starts beeping in your pocket!

I guess we found reception, oh, and an amazing view!

People here in Australia still amaze me. The other day I was walking down a street lined with little cafes and shops. It was a nice street to go for a coffee, which is always a favourite pastime for me.

Unfortunately they were working on the sidewalk. Replacing something that wasn't really broken in the first place it to make sure the government is spending enough money. I mean they are ensuring the safety of everyone walking there and making sure it looks nice and tidy.

I was going to pass the part where they were working, I looked left and right to make sure that I was not going to be run over. But before I could step on the street, a loly pop lady as they are called here, approached me and asked if I needed to pass the road works. After I confirmed this obvious fact, she radioed (!!) her colleague about 40 meters away and asked if he could stop all traffic (yes, all traffic) for me. Wow. It doesn't happen everyday that they stop all traffic for me when I could have safely walked between the construction and the cars.

Amazing!

The first thing is rather geeky. But a company that asks you to help your friends to get rid of one of their products? That deserves a mention!

The company? Microsoft. I am sure you didn't see that one coming. They are trying to ban Internet Explorer 6 in case you were wondering, because it is over 10 years old and they believe it is time to finally upgrade.

But what is way more fun?

And I mean real fun, like a child's dream fun, that is how much fun this is! I love it!! The only problem is the height, but it looks like it is going up, up, up and up! Click the photo below to see this and the 13 following photos about this amazing house!
